Tucker

Like some of my friends, I’m a western horse by trade. I used to do roping competitions. I had to run really fast to keep up with a cow. Then, my rider had to catch the cow by throwing a rope with a big loop at the end (called a lasso) and hooking it around the cow’s neck or feet.

I’m from a breed called the Quarter Horse, and my coat color is known as dark bay (dark brown coat and black mane, tail and legs). I have a symbol called a brand on my shoulder and one on my hip. Horse and cattle ranches out west are very, very large—hundreds and sometimes thousands of acres. If someone ever got loose, people would know which ranch the animal belonged to.

I’m the tallest of the crew, but I’m a big softie, so I often get to work with our youngest clients. I love seeing the joy on their faces when they realize that they are capable of working with such a big guy like me.
